IShowSpeed Takes on Velocity Valley’s Vertigo Ride – and Walks Away Stoked
This weekend, Velocity Valley hosted global YouTube sensation IShowSpeed as part of his New Zealand tour. Known for his over-the-top antics, Speed took on our Vertigo ride – a 43-meter free-fall into a net – and left buzzing about the experience.
From the build-up to the jump, Speed brought his usual dramatic flair. As he was taken to the top, he nervously joked about not being able to go through with it. But the crowd counted down from five, before he dropped, landing safely into the giant net below
While Speed’s livestream may have added a bit of extra drama, (and stirred false rumours about him being injured), once the camera cut Speed couldn’t contain his excitement, declaring, “That was f***ing sick,” and high-fiving his crew.
Rawiri Nelson, one of the organisers of the New Zealand tour, said Speed loved Velocity Valley’s Vertigo ride and was “absolutely fine” afterwards.
His reaction was a testament to why Vertigo is such a standout thrill ride – it’s an experience that sticks with you long after your feet are back on the ground.
Velocity Valley was the final stop on his Rotorua tour. Earlier in the day, the crew tuned in to the IShowSpeed livestream to watch as he tackled the Sky Swing and Rotorua Luge at Skyline Rotorua. He also rolled into action at Zorb Rotorua and enjoyed a traditional Hāngi at the Whakarewarewa Living Māori Village.
It’s always great to see someone embrace the thrill and walk away raving about the experience!
