Celebrating Our 1,000th Vertigo Drop with Jimi Jackson
This weekend, Velocity Valley hit a milestone that’s as big as the rush itself – our 1,000th drop on Vertigo! And who better to take the plunge than Kiwi legend Jimi Jackson?
The lead-up to the big moment was nothing short of iconic. Jimi, true to his comedic nature, decided his fate with a quick game of paper-scissors-rock. After some banter with the Operators and a nervous laugh, he joked, “I’m sh*tting myself, brother,” before yelling one last “love yous” to the crew as he was wheeled out above the net.
But the nerves didn’t last long. He was quickly released, dropping 43 meters into the net below. The Operators couldn’t help but celebrate as he made history with our 1,000th drop, while Jimi walked away buzzing from the experience.
Jimi embraced another classic Kiwi challenge – helping to shear a sheep with our awesome neighbors at the Agrodome! With a bit of chasing, and his usual humor, he managed to catch a sheep and get the job done, leaving everyone in stitches. It was a full day of laughter, adrenaline, and making memories that will stick with us for a long time.
A huge shoutout to Jimi Jackson for being part of our journey to 1,000 drops and bringing his unique energy to the day. Here’s to the next thousand and more unforgettable adventures!
